Message from the President

Dear Loyal Member:

This year, the National Hispanic Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NHCFAE) is celebrating its 30th anniversary of having built a distinguished organization. With your support and the support of our membership, we have experienced many successes especially this past year in advancement of the legislative efforts.

Last year we asked the question “Should we silently accept change or should we become active change-warriors to ensure that Hispanics are propelled forward by the changes?” Your unanimous response at our 2007 General Membership Meeting clearly sounded the bugler’s call to “Charge!!!!” We moved forward smartly and have seen immediate results. Remember though, we are just beginning.  A comprehensive update will be provided at the General Membership Meeting, prior to our annual conference. This year’s conference will be at the Embassy Suites in San Juan, in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico from July 8 to 10, 2008.

This year’s training agenda boasts dynamic speakers and training topics relevant to the current FAA culture. Laughing at Stress; Safety and Risk Management; The Global, National and FAA View of ADS-B; and Managing Yourself Through Change are just a few of the sessions that will motivate and inspire you in your career.

On a sadder note, we saw a change on our Executive Board this year. Our good friend and
Director of Resources, Danny Gutierrez, was called home by our Lord after a relatively short battle with brain cancer. We miss him and will honor his significant contributions to the NHCFAE at the conference.

I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,

Ron R. Lozano
President, NHCFAE
